Drove here to fish about 30 min away. Nice walking and running for sure but the water is completely encased in weeds and turtles. Not fishable. The trails are pretty clean.

Ample parking. Easy trails with a few benches to enjoy a rest with a view. There were swans and waterfowl swimming about. Some trails lead out of the area but it’s easy to stay in-bounds on a circuitous route.

It’s a huge area with lots of nature and different overlapping trails. If you have a fear of dogs I would not go here tho- very dog populated walking area and several are off leash. Most owners are respectful though. Lots of birds, turtles and fish. At the right sun angle and season you can see fish nesting and in the water. Please don’t catch the turtles~ there used to be huge beautiful alligator snapper but someone killed it. Walk and observe pls leave nature be. I hate when I see those butterfly nets. Good safe place to fish with kids with several water options.
