This hidden gem is a great place to take a walk away from the hustle and bustle of life. A good place to go birding with both a large pond and a lookout over the seaside marsh.
You will hear some noise from trucks at the landfill but after a bit you tune it out.

Beautiful hideaway on the ESVA. I hike with my service dog out to the overlook for photography purposes.

I’ve visited in every season but early Spring and late Fall are my favorites. You’ll see raptors as well as shorebirds, waterfowl, some songbirds and smaller woodpeckers. Summer it’s too buggy for me to enjoy. Winter doesn’t bring much in terms of wildlife observations but you can score some amazing atmospheric shots from the overlook.

Overall, it’s a wonderful place to go and sit a spell, and let the world revolve without you for a bit. Bring your own portable chair to the overlook and you may well spend an entire day there!

Bonus – Come in the late morning and you’re likely to catch the F-22 Raptors and T-38 Talons making their way back to Langley from maneuvers off the ESVA coast.
