Dog Park at Bob Woodruff is one of the premier dog parks in Plano, Texas, offering a spacious open area for pups to socialize and exercise. Located at 2300 Shiloh Rd, this park features manicured lawns and designated off-leash areas for both small and large dogs, making it an ideal spot for all breeds and sizes. Dog owners appreciate the community vibe, regular rotations that keep the grass healthy, and the clean, well-kept grounds—making it a favorite for locals seeking a dog-friendly gathering place in Plano.
Key amenities include fenced enclosures divided by dog size (small: 0-30 lbs, large: 30+ lbs), benches for owners, and water fountains in each area. However, park visitors have noted that while water fountains are installed, they sometimes do not function reliably. The park gets especially active in the evenings, and ongoing maintenance keeps the space pleasant. Shade is limited, so prepare for sunny days. There’s no mention of swimming or agility equipment, but the large play spaces and community atmosphere make this dog park in Plano a top spot for dogs and owners alike.

Great big open area dog park for dogs and owners who are responsible and socialized (dogs and owners). Love how they rotate the areas to keep the grass in tact. If it had some shade it would get 5 stars.

I really like this park, always very clean. My pup loves it and it’s so close to my house. I wish they had trees for shade and appearance as well as some sort of water feature that dogs can drink out of. My dog won’t drink out of that tiny water fountain, that most of the time doesn’t work. Small improvements can be made. Borrow a few trees they are cutting down to widen spring creek!!! 🤣

Update: I decided to come back to the park a 2nd time since I was in the area. I arrived at 9:30 PM to locked gates. Hours on the Web show 10:30 PM is when it closes. A wasted trip.
I went for the first time and was impressed with how much space there was for my pup to run around. I was also glad to see there were actually people still at the park and more that continued to come past 8:30 which is rare for most parks. The reason for the 3 star rating is I was extremely disappointed to find the water fountains did not work. I find it completely unacceptable to provide park services for dogs, yet not have any running water.
