🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Sven Dog Park is conveniently located at 29-28 41st Ave, nestled in the heart of Astoria, New York. This urban dog park provides a space where local pet owners from nearby apartment towers and the wider community can bring their four-legged companions for some off-leash exercise and play. Whether you have a small or large dog, many owners mention that the park can accommodate both.
While Sven Dog Park offers a much-needed pet-friendly space, recent reviews indicate some concerns regarding cleanliness and maintenance. The park is described as being heavily used, but daily cleaning and waste management routines may need improvement. Despite these challenges, its location makes it easily accessible for dog owners in Astoria looking for a dedicated dog park to socialize their pets. Visitors are encouraged to review the park’s condition and consider nearby dog parks such as Sunnyside Dog Park or Hunters Point Park if seeking alternative options.
Dog owners are not picking up after their dogs and the park owners need to rinse down the dog parks each dat. They are quite a mess!

This park, “maintained and managed” by the neighboring apartment tower is anything but maintained and managed. This park is never cleaned or taking care of in any way. You would think a building that charges close to 5000$ a month for a bad white box apartment would be able to provide a maintenance staff for their park. It is also almost exclusively used by residents of neighboring towers who don’t have the basic decency and respect for their neighbors to pick up after themselves and their dogs. The culture of these buildings and their residents seems to be using and taking from the neighborhood without any shame about how they leave it for others. It’s a sad state of affairs but very endemic of how these buildings affect the neighborhoods they co-opt, and how the management of the apartments themselves don’t really value the neighborhood or way of life of the residents themselves. I suggest that any potential resident of the building take a tour of the dog park before renting. You will see how poorly this building is taken care of and run and how little they care about the area.

This dog park was once great – with great people looking after the cleanliness of the park. In recent times, there’s been a lot of irresponsible dog owners bringing their dogs to the park just to take a dump and walk away. Once you step into this dog park, you are greeted with a terrible stench.
Highly recommend sunnyside dog park (responsible owners only) or the one at hunters point park.
Sven Management take note: The dog park belongs to you. Mind setting up routine cleaning to upkeep this place?

Very good place for small and big dogs alike will take my dog there everyday, though main complaint is that it need to be washed of all the peep and poop stains. Other then that it’s a great place to bring your dog.
