Smith Road Park is a welcoming spot in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania for pet owners, kids, and nature lovers alike. The park features a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot, making it easy for everyone to visit. Dog owners can enjoy walking their pups along pet-friendly trails, relaxing by the creek, and taking in the abundant birdlife. While this isn’t an official off-leash dog park and doesn’t have fenced areas, it is a popular choice for dog-friendly hiking and enjoying the outdoors in the Gilbertsville area.
The recently added pavilion offers picnic tables and a place to enjoy lunch while your dog rests nearby. There’s also a graveled parking area for convenient access and swings for kids, making it a great spot for family outings. Visitors should note that the park is flood-prone and does not have restrooms on site, but its peaceful natural setting and shaded areas by the creek offer a relaxing escape for you and your four-legged friend.
Date of first visit was Sunday April 13th, 2025. Very small park that lacks various amenities like a playground or a walking track. The park is surrounded by a small creek.
Ate lunch here today and saw as many woodpeckers as I’ve ever seen. Downy, Hairy, Red-bellied, Nutchatches, you name it. Also some tufted titmice. Lovely.
Relaxing area to walk the pup, watch ducks, throw a hook in a stream.
Please pickup after your dog. Keep the park clean and available.
All i wish is that they would of stocked some trout in the area ive been fishing there for 2 months and never saw a trout its alittle disappointing because it could give opportunity for local kids to pick up on a healthy hobby that can change lives
I have been going here for a little while now. Here are the highlights:
New pavilion with picnic tables,
Recently graveled parking area,
Swings within a mulched area,
A small open field,
Great access to the creek.
A word of warning: this park is in a flood prone area. Best not to be here in a heavy rain event unless you a prepared for the water level to overtop the creek.
There is no usable toilet at this time.
