🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Located conveniently at 3200 S Rose Ave, College Dog Park is a spacious, fully fenced dog park serving Oxnard and the greater Ventura County area. Known for its separate sections for large and small dogs, this dog-friendly park is perfect for letting your pup socialize off-leash and burn off energy. There’s ample parking next to the park, making it easy for locals and visitors alike to drop by and enjoy some pet-friendly fun.
Dog owners regularly gather here, and the park features agility obstacles, a pay-to-use bathing area for pups that need a rinse, and plenty of room to roam. While the park is highly rated for its space and dog socialization, visitors should note ongoing concerns about cleanliness and recommend watching where you step. The park’s proximity to the highway means easy access, but may sometimes bring in less-than-fresh air.
Two separate dog dog parks. One for large, one for little. Lots to do for the doggies but picking up after them seems to be ignored. Too bad because it’s a great place.

Good park, unfortunately people who go there dont have the decency to pick up their dog dropping. Watch where you step. Had to pick up at least 6 or 7 droppings that were left behind by other owners so my kids wouldn’t step in them.

It is a pretty spacious and fenced in dog park with lots of parking but it is right by the highway so it constantly reeks like gas. Previous visitors did not feel the need to pick up after their dog so there is poop everywhere. It seems dirty and abandoned. I do not recommend coming here. My dog was ready to leave as soon as we arrived, and he usually never wants to leave.

This is my dog’s second favorite place and therefore the rating. She’s made some good doggo friends and people are mindful of asking if other dogs are socialized before entering (a good practice to avoid doggo injuries). The park itself needs upkeep and renovation but then again that’s more for human comfort than doggo fun, so does it really matter?
