My family and I have been going back to the Sand Springs for over a decade. It’s one of our favorite spots. I would consider it a moderate trail, though I like rough trails so others may consider it hard.
It’s more overgrown each year, which I like because I remember the woods used to look pretty sparse back through there. Today it was quite humid and slightly foggy because of the chance of a thunderstorm… Thus why I’m out here.
Well, we didn’t get rained on but it was drizzling off and on which made for a very surreal hike. 10/10, would highly recommend.

An important thing to note is that IF you are going back to the Sand Spring specifically, as I do, it is basically only a hiking trail. However, if you stay on the gravel road, you can run, walk, bike, take your dog, whatever. It goes back pretty far and the scenery is still alright.
