French Falls Recreation Area is a beautiful dog-friendly park located in Jay, Maine, offering a scenic spot for pet owners and their furry friends. The park features several intersecting trails running alongside the Androscoggin River and through wooded areas, making it a popular destination for dog-friendly hiking and leisurely strolls. The well-kept paths are easy enough for families, including young children and leashed dogs, to enjoy short nature walks with plenty of wildlife and river views to explore.

BRING BUG SPRAY! This area has some very nice trails, despite the mosquitoes it is a beautiful heavily wooded area in some parts of the trails and an open area with some picnic tables spread out for the non trails. Loved it!

It can get kinda buggy, but the trails themselves are wonderful for a short, family nature walk.
Our kids loves to find the informational signs about the natural wildlife in maine and all different plants. They are very informative and fun to spot while walking along the trail.
None of the paths are too long, which makes it easy for even a 2-year-old to do the distance. There are also a number of little spots that are pretty and comfortably set up for someone t sit and rest a little while.
Great place!
