Buck Meadow Recreation Area & Conservation Land is a popular destination for dog owners seeking open spaces and pet-friendly trails in Amherst, New Hampshire. Known for its sense of community, the park is a favorite outdoor spot for locals, hosting events like the Solar Eclipse celebration and a Healthy Kids Running Series. With its picturesque landscape, small pond, and available trails, it’s a great place for dog-friendly hiking and outdoor activities.
While dogs are welcome, be aware that off-leash access is limited to specific months—typically from November through April. The park also features sports fields and open spaces perfect for playing ball with your dog, but keep in mind that it can get busy during community events and parking may be limited at times. Its convenient location and tranquil atmosphere make it an attractive spot for nature lovers and dog owners alike.

Visited Buck Meadow to view the 2024 Solar Eclipse. What struck me was the sense of community that gathered today. People hanging out and talking, kids playing, and live musical entertainment, as people felt the excitement of the solar eclipse building. The Amherst Recreation Department did a great job putting this together. Made me proud to be from Amherst!
