🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]

Nestled in the heart of Ellenwood, Grant Road Park offers a convenient and pet-friendly spot for local dog owners. This cozy neighborhood park is designed with fenced areas for dogs, allowing off-leash play and socialization. Families enjoy the mix of dog park equipment and nearby playgrounds, making it a suitable stop for both pets and kids. However, visitors should be aware that the park, while popular for its location, occasionally faces maintenance concerns including non-functioning water fountains and periods where waste bags have not been replenished.
The dog park is uniquely situated close to the Clayton County Police Department and provides easy accessibility for Ellenwood residents seeking dog-friendly spaces. While it does feature amenities like a pavilion and seating for owners, the park can sometimes be impacted by trash and overflow, so plan your visit accordingly. Bring your own water and waste bags, especially if coming on weekends, and enjoy the relaxed, shaded environment perfect for quick dog walk breaks or playtime with your furry friend.

I would have given 5 stars if the dog fountains were working. Other than that, it’s a cozy neighborhood park for small gatherings or for taking the pups out for a little play time. When we are in the area, we will stop by in between dashes.

Dog park equipment looked pretty cool but the entrance was littered with trash and the trash cans overflowing making it feel generally unclean. I did not allow my dog to play and we left.

Review for Grant Road Dog Park. Could be a little more well maintained in the dog area. Poop bag dispensers have been empty for quite some time. With nothing to pick up poop with, ground is filling up with poop. Dog fountains do not work. Homeless people use pavilion and playground slides for residence and park is a frequent rendevous for all kinds of activity. Police presence should be frequent, considering Clayton County Police Department is right down the road. This park is very convenient to bring my dog to but the enjoyment is hindered because of things listed above.
