Gamewell Park – Local Community Charm in Lenoir, North Carolina

Gamewell Park is a well-kept community space located near the county line at 2750 Morganton Blvd SW, Lenoir, NC. Known for its clean environment and family-friendly atmosphere, the park features a playground, picnic areas perfect for cookouts, and a paved greenway that’s popular among locals. It’s especially loved by families looking for a fun outdoor spot for children, featuring basketball courts and wide trails.

However, Gamewell Park is not a pet-friendly park according to current regulations. No dogs allowed makes this place no good for my family. Park is small with limited parking. It is mostly for show with the new bridge to nowhere. Recommend to go up the road farther where is a paved greenway that goes through wooded areas near the former shopping mall.

It’s really a fabulous Park of course the reason I didn’t give it but three stars is because there’s no shade trees throughout the park or trees in general. It’s very sad that these days it’s clear-cut when something is built because it’s easier for them they don’t think about what’s best they think about what’s quickest and the cheapest so that’s why it gets three stars but other than that it’s a great place I haven’t heard of any violence or graffiti. However it is in the city limits but it is much closer to the county line and to me that gives me a better feeling about taking children to go play or just hang out and have a cookout

Nice park, but as a taxpayer, people should be able to walk their dogs on the asphalt path, just keep them away from play areas. The park should be more welcoming in that manner; it should be for everyone. I understand about the dog waste, and the people too lazy to pick up after their pets are the issue killing it for everyone else. But, in my book, I get just as irritared about people leaving trash and cigarette butts all over the place…
