We enjoyed a wonderful day at Burney Park Beach. This beach is amazing, we went on a Thursday to avoid any crowds. The park was easy to find and I love that the walk from the parking lot wasn’t a long distance, we had my mom with us, she’s is in her 70’s and walks with the assistance of a cane. Overall I would definitely come back, it’s worth the drive for a fun get away. Just one set back, the shower system outside the bathroom does not work so we were not able to wash off the sand before returning to our vehicles.

American Beach/ Burney Park is spectacular. My favorite things about it are the bathrooms are close by, easy access to the beach, parking is free, and even when it is crowded, it’s really not. It is worth the 45 minute drive from Jacksonville.

This is a fantastic beach! Free parking lot close to the walkway, covered shelter with tables, bathroom facilities with showers (not hot water), and a life guard. It wasn’t crowded at all. This is my go-to when I do a day trip to the ocean.
