If you’re seeking scenic, pet-friendly trails in Elkton, Florida, the Deep Creek Conservation Area – North Tract Entrance offers a peaceful outdoor experience for you and your dog. Wander along wide, wooded paths surrounded by pines and palms, with almost three miles of partially shaded forest trails—perfect for a long walk or hike with your canine companion. Local visitors love the natural solitude, abundant wildlife sightings, and clean air, making it a standout nature spot for dog-friendly hiking in St. Johns County.
While the area doesn’t have a dedicated dog park with fenced runs or drinking fountains, it is loved for quiet strolls, kayaking, and exploring nature together. Keep in mind there are no restrooms or trash cans at this trailhead, but Riverdale Park boat ramp nearby provides bathrooms if needed. Don’t forget bug spray to make the most of your adventure! Deep Creek is a hidden gem for nature-loving dog owners looking for a tranquil escape.
Lovely partially shaded forest trail of almost 3 miles, but there were lots of bugs swarming, so use bugspray. No bathrooms, but there are some just down the road at Riverdale Park boat ramp. Saw no one else there except 2 people on the way back.

Nice long walk with a big loop. Wide, wooded trails surrounded by pine and palms. Beautiful at sunset! I went to the north trailhead. Only notes: no trashcan and no bathroom

Well, starting at the north entrance to go for a walk might be a good option to find a lonesome trail, but this trail is just boring. Nature has so much more variety in store on other places.
We‘ll try the deep creek for kayaking, heard that this is much more beautiful.
