Starvation Creek State Park offers some of the best dog-friendly hiking in Cascade Locks, OR. Known for its stunning waterfalls like Starvation Creek Falls and Cabin Creek Falls, this scenic spot welcomes pet owners to enjoy serene walks, lush views, and accessible trails. The wide, flat paths make it an ideal outdoor destination for families with pets who want a relaxing stroll or an easy hike near the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail.
With plenty of parking available and picnic tables near the falls, visitors and their dogs can enjoy a peaceful lunch in a beautiful natural setting. Restrooms are conveniently located close to the parking lot, and shaded areas by the waterfalls provide respite during warmer months. While not a traditional dog park with fenced play zones, Starvation Creek is a perfect stop for leashed pets exploring the Gorge.
Great view of some waterfalls, I bicycle through and had both falls all to my self. A great place very serene.

Really neat little place with waterfall and walking trails, a little info board telling the history of how it got named that. You can only access from the eastbound side of the highway, so if you think “i’ll have to stop there on my return trip” you will miss out. It is really a beautiful place. And there’s a bathroom, so it’s a nice place to have lunch at the tables by the falls. It’s not hard to get to and very close to the parking lot.
