Bernards Twp Dog Run Park in Basking Ridge, New Jersey

Nestled behind the local soccer fields, Bernards Twp Dog Run Park offers one of the largest open, fenced-in spaces in Basking Ridge for dogs to run and play off-leash. Dog owners appreciate the park’s vast area, giving pets plenty of room to socialize and exercise in a natural setting with pet-friendly trails. The serene environment makes it a favorite for both locals and visitors, but be prepared for mud after rain and a bit of a walk over uneven ground to reach the entrance.

While the park is a haven for dogs to enjoy freedom, it does not provide water fountains or bowls, so remember to bring your own water and dog waste bags. The park is frequented by friendly pups, although some owners have noted the presence of less-attentive owners during certain times and recommend vigilance if your dog prefers quieter play. Overall, it’s a beloved spot for dog lovers in the Basking Ridge area looking for a safe, dog-friendly escape.

Kind of hidden behind the soccer field’s but it’s huge and clean, plus the dog loved it so what else can you ask for?!

My dog likes it here, but there is an aggressive group of dogs (and inattentive owners) that come every day between 3-430pm. Not fun or safe.

Also, yes the park is muddy but not the end of the world if you’re prepared. And some owners do not close/lock the entrance door which is insane to me.

I’m back in town visiting for a few days. Friends that I am staying with suggested the Dog Run Park. The place is great. The place is a huge fenced-in open area. Remove the leash and let em go. Bring your bags to clean up your boy’s mess, so the next person does not soil their shoes.
My boy SammyDog had a bit of an overload. He is accustomed to playing with one or two dogs at a time. There were six other dogs to play with, and he was not sure where or who to go and play with.
It was a great time, SammyDog and Silver were tired enough to nap in the car as we stopped at Oakflower Brewery.
