Johns Park is a beloved green space nestled in a quiet Anchorage neighborhood at 145 Bree Ave, making it a peaceful destination for families and dog owners alike. This dog-friendly park features scenic, pet-friendly trails—perfect for on-leash walks through blooming wildflowers in the summer or snowy adventures in the winter. Residents praise the calm atmosphere, the lush surroundings, and easy trail loops that lead you onto the marsh and over pretty wooden bridges, offering excellent photo opportunities and a true Alaska outdoor feel.
The park also includes a large field, picnic tables, a jungle gym, and a playground that caters to both big and little kids, making it ideal for gatherings with both two- and four-legged family members. Benches scattered throughout provide resting spots for owners while enjoying the relaxing, mellow setting. While dogs are welcome on leash, there is no designated off-leash or fenced area. Please note there are no restrooms or dedicated parking lots—street parking is available only.

One of my favorite parks in south anchorage. It sits in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. There is a large field with picnic tables, a couple of swings and a playground that is both big and little kid friendly. There is also a nice trail with a small wooden bridge that goes over furrow creek. Street parking only.
