Astro’s Community Dog Run is a welcoming and well-maintained dog park in the heart of New York City, located at 525 10th Ave. This hidden gem offers a rare green space in Manhattan, featuring gravel surfaces that are gentler on paws compared to the city’s usual asphalt. The park provides a secure, fenced area where dogs can exercise off-leash, socialize, and play – all within a setting lush with beautiful plants and plenty of seating for dog owners.
This private membership-based dog run requires an annual fee for entry and a key for access, helping ensure that the space remains clean and well cared for. The dog run is open 24/7 and equipped with waste disposal stations, making it easy to keep the area tidy. It’s an excellent spot for long-term locals or new NYC residents seeking a community-focused, dog-friendly haven.
So glad someone was nice enough to open gate and let me and my pups in. Visiting from out of town and didn’t realize you needed a key/register. Great area for dogs to run and will be sending some money to help with maintenance.

This is pretty obvious because members pay an annual fee to use it, but I still made the assumption that it was open to all. Just keep in mind that you need to be a paying member with the key to get in. I walked all the way over just to realize the door is locked. Oops! Otherwise it looks like a great spot for people that live here long-term!
