River Road Trail offers dog owners and their furry companions a scenic, pet-friendly hiking experience right along Pequea Creek in Pequea, Pennsylvania. Known as a hidden gem, this flat dirt and natural surface trail runs just over 1.25 miles one way, or about 2.5 miles round trip, featuring tranquil river views, shaded areas, and unique rock formations. The gentle grade and mostly flat surface make it perfect for a leisurely stroll or brisk walk with your dog. Just be aware that the trail can become muddy after rain, and natural obstacles like rocks, roots, and a stone staircase add some light adventure along the way.
This dog-friendly hiking trail is a peaceful spot to enjoy nature’s sights and sounds. You and your dog can also see the beautiful Colemanville Covered Bridge at the trail’s end and enjoy shady stretches throughout. Note that cell reception is spotty, and there are no restroom or waste facilities, so plan accordingly and pack your own water and supplies.

Beautiful and peaceful place for a hike. Lots of no trespassing signs. Not sure what the story is with accessing the creek. We saw some coyotes at dusk.
