This park is a hidden gem. I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid. We used to walk here when we were kids and go swimming and then walk back home together. It was one of the few places our parents would let us go by ourselves. It’s a great park run by the city that a lot of out of towners do not know about. It has a little sandy beach and a great swimming area. It has a barbecue that takes briquettes in picnic tables and the city does a great job keeping it clean. They come and clean the bathrooms everyday. The park is only open in the daytime so there’s no camping but it’s a great place to spend the day. There is shade in the park area because of the big trees, but you can also get some sun on the beach part. They also have life preservers for kids in case you didn’t bring your own if people are swimming. It’s not a very huge park but it’s very nice. I still stop by here for 10 or 15 minutes every single time I come home to visit family.

A small spot, but so beautiful all of the way around! I would spend hours if I lived closer. -Regina
