Franklyn’s Field is a popular dog park in Rome, New York, renowned for its family-friendly atmosphere and versatile amenities. Visitors rave about its spacious, fenced-in playground, ample parking, and clean environment. The park offers a wide variety of recreational activities, including well-maintained tennis courts, basketball courts, a baseball field, horse shoe pits, walking trails, and even a small and large play area for children. For pet owners, there are open areas suitable for walking dogs and letting them enjoy the fresh air, along with walking paths that are newly paved and great for strolls with your furry friend.
This park stands out for its pet-friendly trails and amenities like a bag station for dog waste, available restrooms, picnic tables, and covered pavilions. There’s plenty of shade and seating, making it easy for owners to relax while their pets play. While there is no fully dedicated fenced-in dog park area, canine visitors are welcome on leashes, and the park’s open design and community-oriented features make it a comfortable place for both pets and families year-round.

This park is fantastic. The location is family friendly and clean. There is a fenced in playground with ample seating that has views from all angles. Two play structures for varying age children. Wood chips underneath. Large sandpit. There is a swing set with adult kid combo swings; I have never seen these before and thought it was an awesome idea to be able to swing with your child. Free parking along the side. Three large tennis courts. Space for baseball. Two full court basket ball hoops. I would recommend this place and will be back to visit again.

I was here volunteering for a Halloween event and I can say this is a really nice place for public events. Plenty of space and parking, wide open areas to set up stuff and it’s easy to get to from anywhere in Rome.
