Owen’s Park in Louisburg, North Carolina, is a versatile community space offering more than just your standard dog park. Situated at 499 Massenburg Baker Rd, this park features scenic open spaces, pet-friendly walking trails, ball fields, disc golf, a playground, and a picturesque gazebo, making it a popular spot for families and pet owners alike. The grounds are well-maintained, family-friendly, and feature amenities like playgrounds, sports fields, modern restrooms, clean concession areas, and plenty of parking — all contributing to its reputation as one of the best parks in the Louisburg area.
For dog owners, Owen’s Park provides a dedicated dog park area, though it’s important to note some drawbacks: the dog park surface is covered in oversized mulch, which can be uncomfortable for dogs. Shade is limited, and the only water source is located outside the fenced area. While the park is spacious and safe for leashed walks, the dog area may feel hot in summer and may not be ideal for all pets. However, the beautiful grounds, playground, sports facilities, and pet-friendly atmosphere make Owen’s Park a great spot for dog-friendly an afternoon out, even if the dog park itself isn’t perfect.
Very nice area with a nice playground and walking trail. Has ponds too with a nice floating dock that you can fish on. Clean, family friendly, safe, and kids love it.
Three different tee pads to accommodate those with different throwing power. No real challenges. Only 2 holes require actual aiming because of obstacles, and even then, you must play the furthest tee. Those 2 have trees at the back tee. Once you clear the trees, which only takes a 3ft throw, it’s clear sailing. If you play the front or middle tees, there is absolutely nothing in between you and the basket. Grip it and rip it over and over again. It’s that wide open. Your hardest obstacle is the wind. Wide open courses like this are notoriously windy. The course is easy to walk for young and old and pets too. And fishing on the two lakes is always fun. It’s a good place to play if you want to have yours kids throw, or if all you have is a backhand, or if you’re trying to learn new throws. You won’t be punished for a bad throw.
Awesome Disc Golf Course! Great signage. The grounds were very well taken care of.

This course was originally a country club. It is beautiful and well maintained. There are three sets of tees for each basket. This is a picture from the pro tee at #10. A par 4 at 771′.
