If you’re traveling through Polk City, Florida with your four-legged friend, the Dog Park at Love’s Travel Stops offers a quick, convenient spot for a pet break. This small, fully fenced dog area is located right off I-4, making it perfect for truckers, RV travelers, or anyone on the go needing a safe place for their dog to stretch, sniff, and do their business. While calling it a full-fledged dog park might be generous, it’s a reliable fenced patch of grass that provides basic amenities for a quick dog-friendly stop.
Highlights include shade, seating, and a double-gated entry to help keep pets secure. The area is regularly cleaned, and doggie poop bags are available. While there isn’t a playground or activity space for larger groups of dog owners to mingle, it’s a practical solution for travelers needing a secure, off-leash break area near Polk City. Please note this area is quite small, and best suited for short stays rather than long play sessions or large meetups.
Nice place!
How do they always keep this place clean!? Doggie poop bags available.
Let’s be real — calling this a “dog park” feels a bit generous. It’s more like a fenced patch of earth that accidentally grew some grass. Tiny space, barely enough for a chihuahua to stretch its legs, and even then — not without stepping on a bald spot.
The grass is struggling, patchy, and looks like it’s seen some stuff. If I were a dog, I’d probably throw side-eye and refuse to pee here out of principle.
Appreciate the effort, but this feels more like a checkbox for “amenities” than an actual place dogs would enjoy. One sniff and I’d be out.
Great place to stretch your legs
Very small fenced in area. Has shade, seating “airlock” gate setup, etc. This is a spot for Truckers to take their best friend to do their business and flex their legs a little. It’s not a serious dog park, but it isn’t trying to be. I would prefer if they rebranded this as a “dog area” as I tried to meet up with a someone and brought my dog there, when it isn’t really a place for dog owners to get together and allow their dogs to socialize.
