There are a lot of picnic tables and shade. The snorkeling before noon was great, but around 1pm it became much more murky and wasn’t the same. Fun place to hang out for a couple hours with the family.
Beautiful beach, very clean. Lots of picnic tables and shade. There are also showers, and bathrooms. The snorkeling was amazing, such clear water and many fish and colorful coral to see. There were also tide pools with a few cool finds and a swimming hole just past the tide pools, follow the trail and go down the steps.
Nice public beach with tables and trees for stringing hammocks up, very nice public bathroom, very pretty setting and soft sandy beach but strong surf and tide, water is a bit murky with too much suspended sand to be good for snorkeling, tidal pools are fun to explore (look but don’t touch the wildlife). Just minutes from harbor.
Spent three hours at this beach and the facilities like the bathrooms and picnic tables were very nice. The bay is a good snorkeling spot and one of the few places where I saw an eel. The waves are gigantic with the largest waves being taller than twice my height. The current is also strong swimming to the reef is difficult without fins so make sure to bring a pair. This beach is excellent for people who enjoy being ruthlessly pummeled by the waves and snorkeling.
This is a very beautiful beach for the whole family. There is very good snorkelling on the left hand side of the beach near the rocks as well. And if you walk up the short trail to the rocks you can find a small secluded beach and also will be rewarded with a very nice view of Puu Pehe (Sweetheart Rock).
