The dog park on N. Grandview Ave. is a very basic bare bones dog park, offering two areas one side for dogs under 20 lbs. and the other side for dogs over 20 lbs. A portable rest room is provide, along with benches and picnic tables to sit on. During Spring, Summer, and Fall the water fountain is turned on for access to water.
The small dog side does not get much use an often times you will find some larger dogs using that side. If this is a problem for your small dog or puppy request that the large dog go to the other side.
Please watch your dog and pick up after your dog. Animal waste bags are provided along with garbage cans for disposal of the bag.
A nominal fee of NULL.00 per dog per visit is requested based on the honor system and economic ability to pay. A season pass may be purchased at the Multi-Cultural Center on 1100 block of Central Ave. for NULL.00 running from May to May.
It is not a good idea to bring food or dog treats to the dog park as some dogs have a keen sense of smell and are very food motivated.
Enter at your own risk for both you and your dog. There is a two dog limit per person watching the dog.
PS – Your dog will love it.
The park was well maintained and there were bowls and bags for use to use. It was quiet so we were able to have the whole fenced in area to ourselves!
If you like un-manicured runs, abundance of flying bugs, treating your dog for cut pads, flees and dealing with other people’s untrained pets this is the place for you. I’m new to the area but kinda assumed pets had to obey at least verbal commands and are parasite free before they were allowed in pet parks.
Good place to take your dog to socialize and exercise.
Most dogs and owners who I have encountered there are responsible and friendly.
Sometimes there are muddy spots in lawn, trash on property, or trash stinks, but otherwise well-kept up. Also, the parking is a bit “tricky” if you drive to the dog park.
Suggestion: Bring water and poop bags for your dog in case they are unavailable. Also, there is a small fee you self-pay for use of the park (NULL.00 per day as of July 2020) or I think you can buy a long-term-use “pass.”
