Red Fern Dog Park offers a welcoming and picturesque environment for local dog owners looking for a dedicated off-leash space near North Liberty, Iowa. With beautiful agricultural scenery and gently rolling hills as a backdrop, this members-only dog park is designed to be an inclusive and accessible destination for both two- and four-legged visitors. The location boasts three separate fenced areas, including a specially designated small dog section, allowing pets of all sizes to enjoy playtime safely. Ample free parking and on-site restroom facilities (including wheelchair-accessible and gender-neutral options) add to the park’s convenience.
Benches and partially sheltered seating offer a comfortable place for owners, and the park’s LGBTQ-friendly atmosphere welcomes everyone. Please note, visitors must bring their own water for their dogs, as water fixtures are not provided. The park is closed for construction from June 2 to July 14, 2025, so plan your visit accordingly. Registration is required, with gate codes controlling access to ensure safety and membership compliance.
I’ve driven by this place many times and the scenery with the nearby agricultural intensifies this already beautiful park. The hills are also an excellent backdrop to the park as well. I have only stopped here once but I plan to return soon with my English bulldog, Nova. I think she will enjoy her time here.
It’s very bare and you have to bring your own water. Plus you have to register your dog (NULL/yr) to use it bc the gates have codes.
So do like the three separate gated areas for people who want to just let their dog wander around off leash without always interacting with other dogs.
I’m neutral on this one. It’s a nice space. There are 3 separate fenced areas, one designated for small dogs. There are benches and some sheltered sitting space. There were only a few people when we went. My dog didn’t want to be there though. He was quite shaken up by the walk there, on the shoulder of a busy road with high speed traffic zooming by. There are no sidewalks leading to this park. I find it odd that you have to drive to get to a dog park. It’s NULL a year and I didn’t see an option to pay by the day. We didn’t stay.
One of her favorite parks. She loves the sand pit
Nice dog park, ample parking. I like that there is another “All Dog” park on the other side of the parking lot. The dogs can’t tease each other through the fence. There are two enclosures on the other side of the lot, small and all dog. Beautiful scenery surrounding the park. It is a shame that there’s no water fixture for the pups. Also, a lot of poop that has not been picked up by irresponsible pet parents. Other than that, it’s a nice addition to the community.
