If you’re looking for an off-leash dog park in Indianola, Iowa, Downey Memorial Park and Indianola Off-Leash Dog Park provides unique amenities for local pets and their owners. The park requires a membership for entry and uses a code-lock system for extra security. Visitors will find two fenced areas: one for small dogs under 25 lbs and one for larger dogs over 25 lbs, making it a safe and enjoyable spot for all breeds and sizes. Both areas offer play equipment and water fountains for your dog’s refreshment and engagement.
Wheelchair-accessible parking and entrances make this pet-friendly space inclusive for everyone. The park is valued by locals as a secure and social place for dogs to exercise off-leash and meet new friends. While the park has experienced some maintenance concerns in the past, recent efforts have removed damaged structures. Please remember that an annual membership is required, and visitors should be diligent about cleaning up after their dogs to keep the space welcoming.
this place requires a membership and there’s a code lock on the door.
Just went to see what the park was like before deciding on getting a membership. The city needs to update this site or clean up the park. I looks nothing like the pictures except maybe the fences dividing the big from the little dogs. I’m still thinking about getting a membership so my dog can run and get exercise but was very disappointed how run down it is compared to the pics on the site.
so much damage!UPDATE!
they have taken down the building and everything that was damaged in my pictures. still have to pay for your pets to run around though.
I have a large puppy that needs socialised by other well behaved dogs. This is a good place for him to meet them. Most people are there to let their dogs play with others. Its,also a safe place to let them off leash in public.
This park has two fenced in areas for dogs. A smaller area for dogs under 25lbs and a larger area for dogs over 25lbs. Both areas include play equipment and water fountains. The negatives include the fact that a NULL annual pass is required to get in and previous visitors to the park haven’t done a great job cleaning up.
