Beautiful woodsy spot! The locals are pretty local…they will know if you’re an “outsider”. Generally people are nice, sometimes the people vibe is strange, but my dogs love it there! We go everyday 2x. Highly recommend!
If I had I dog I’d probably rate it higher, but I don’t.
I went here to explore the King Property which the dog park lies within.
The property doesn’t have much, besides for forest preserve. Waterfront access is very hard, the one trail that does approach the water and has a sign that says family fishing area, is unmaintained and overgrown, and even when you get to the water there are tall water grasses that obstruct access.
Nice wooded park with a fence. Other guests were courteous. There is parking, then one must walk about 5 min to arrive at the fenced area. The park was clean. The surface is basically a forest floor so there are rocks, sticks and leaves. This is not an open field with grass like some other dog parks I’ve been to. It was nice, and worth the 15 min drive to get there especially since there are not many off leash parks in the area.
I absolutely love this dog park! It’s beautiful and my dog loves it! It’s relatively quiet and has two different areas for timid dogs and a bigger area for more experienced dogs. There are trails surrounding the park to hike with your best bud. It gets muddy when it rains so go prepared! It’s the perfect place to get exercise for you & your dogs 🐶!
Large, wooded park located about a quarter mile hike from the parking.
No water, no bags, although there was a trash can just outside the gate. Separate area for small dogs in the front – but the main dog area was very large, heading far back into the woods. Benches scattered around the space – there would be alot of shade when the trees have leaves.
