While there, a child came onto the fishing dock. I wondered where his guardian was. He emidiatly told me, “I caught a pike here. I questioned him. He said “It was 10, no I meant 24 inches, I mean 24 FEET.” He put his hands apart about 1 foot. His grandpa showed up and laughed at the story. I caught a bass and some blue gills. It was fun. K, bye 4 now.
Huge walking trail, so many benches with gorgeous views, and great fishing spot. Went here with friends from school and we had a blast.
The park was quite nice from what I observed. The boat launch however is not good. It’s just gravel it’s uneven and in very shallow water. Lots of weeds in the lake. Fishing was very good plenty of panfish to keep kids busy and bass and pike were also very abundant. Fishing from shore would be a challenge as so many weeds are in the shallow areas. I did see a public dock I imagine Fishing might be better from there if you don’t own a boat. But if the beach and the park is your thing this place is awesome! They even have a building you can rent!
Wildlife…wildlife…wildlife. Romantic setting. Nice barefooted walk on the beach. American Eagles nest in plain sight and snapping turtle in the midst of laying her eggs. Top ten in local lakes. Hidden trail gems for privacy.
Absolutely my favorite park in Minnesota!
I’m there almost every afternoon. In the fall it’s a great walk around the lake with amazing tree colors and in the winter you can walk/skate on the lake !
Very peaceful!
Also has a very nice playground for kids and amazing spots to just sit and watch the lake.
It’s a dreamy place !
