Hiking Trail Review
Salt Springs State Park Loop – 3.5 miles
Trailhead is was a bit harder to find as the main road in was closed. Once you are in though the parking lot is huge. Many trails to be explored. This trail was muddy, buggy and partially overgrown. On top of that, the river is rather high so the first part of the trail is not accessible. You can still cut across and uphill to another trail which eventually intersects the main trail. Despite my initial complaints, this trail was super peaceful, challenging and had stunning views. Push through the initial downsides and you will be rewarded.

The views are worth the drive. Kid friendly, dog friendly, and your family will love it. Bring your water shoes. Bring a lunch. Places to camp. Plenty of parking. Afterwords theirs a porch with WiFi 👎🏻so the kids can Check in on their own lives.

Beautiful nature. Plenty of opportunities to see the changing foliage (end of September). Not many folks camping, but out reserved site was occupied by another camper when we arrived so we camped at the site next to that. There was plenty of cell service. No showers, but we knew that before we booked the site. We saw frogs, salamanders, deer, lots of beautiful birds, and red squirrels.
