Mesier Park is a centrally located green space in the heart of Wappingers Falls, New York, cherished by locals for its beautiful landscaping and towering old trees. While it’s not a dedicated dog park, it’s a lovely pet-friendly park where dog owners can enjoy scenic strolls, shaded picnic spots, and take advantage of open green areas perfect for leashed walks with their pups. The historic Mesier Homestead, playgrounds, splash pad, and regular community events make it a vibrant hub for families, children, and visitors alike.
This park stands out for its old-growth trees providing ample shade during hot summer days, clean and well-kept grounds, picnic tables, playgrounds, and occasional music or community events. Visitors can relax under shady gazebos, let their kids play in modern play areas, or enjoy pleasant walks with their furry friends on the park’s paved paths. Although parking is limited, Mesier Park remains an accessible destination for those seeking a peaceful outdoor experience in Wappingers Falls.

What a lovely surprise to find this amazing park that was once the home of the Mesier family, the home still stands and appears to retain the original current from the 1700-1800s (it wasn’t open).

Tranquil place. Everyone brought their lawn chairs and gathered around the gazebo to listen to live music on Friday night.

I livedin South avenue from 1946until 1964 I loved the town. Their was always Halloween parade every year.and enjoyed walking the village all my life. It’s a warm place I love to return every few years. Just to see if anything has changed

Very informative guides took us back in time to learn about the family that once lived in the Mesier Homestead. The museum is full of interesting artifacts, definitely worth a visit! Also nice gift store on site.

Very pretty park in the village of Wappingers Falls. They have events from farm market to evening concert’s. It’s small in comparison to other parks like Bowdoin Park, but very quaint and has the most amazing old tree’s. Lovely for a stroll on a hot July day as the tree’s make it shady and comfortable. Highly recommend it!
