The lady up front was immediately confrontational and rude. The facilties are nasty and unclean. I saw filthy puppies caked in their own urine and cowering in the corner.
The are subpar so adopter beware.

I helped my mom adopt a kitten from Hudson Valley SPCA last week and we couldn’t be happier with how everything went.. The atmosphere is truly welcoming and positive, making it a pleasure to spend time there. My mom couldn’t contain her excitement and they really made it a great experience for her. They found her a cat that matched what she was looking for and even had a back up ready just in case. She loved that they let her spend time with him so she could be sure. They helped us through each step of the adoption process and kept her informed every step of the way. The facility is exceptionally clean, and it’s evident that each animal receives the highest level of care, attention and nutrition. The staff are incredibly kind, dedicated, and passionate about their work, which creates a wonderful sense of community. Our newest family member is now in his forever home with my parents and has filled our hearts with joy. We highly recommend Hudson Valley SPCA to anyone looking to adopt a pet or get involved as a volunteer. It’s a fantastic organization that genuinely cares for every animal they take in and the families looking to adopt.

Over the years, my family has adopted five dogs from this shelter. Matt and his crew always put the best effort in finding a safe and loving homes for many animals in need. We are so grateful to have the shelter in our community. Please support by donations or volunteer, because help is always needed ❤️

Very disappointed. I’m the single mother of an 8 month old baby and my previously well adjusted and sweet cats have taken a toll on my mental health and stress levels since having him. I’ve been trying to rehome them for months as things get worse. I have called and left messages begging and pleading for help and no one has bothered to respond to me. This is why people end up putting their cats outside, because the places you turn to for help neglect you.

We just adopted a hound mix pup to be my husband’s service canine from NW SPCA. A non kill shelter. They care so much and most certainly work their tales off for the animals. Please consider volunteering and donating. Above all spay and neuter!
