If you’re traveling along the interstate near Hanson and searching for a dog park in Hanson, Kentucky, the Dog Park at Love’s Travel Stops is a convenient spot for giving your furry friend a break. This fenced dog park is located just off the expressway, making it easy for both locals and road trippers to access. While it’s on the smaller side, it offers a safe, off-leash space for your pet to exercise and socialize, particularly valuable for those without a backyard or who are passing through on a long drive.

The park includes a double-gated entry for safety, a single bench within the fenced area, and picnic tables nearby for a quick rest. There are separate areas for small and large dogs, helping to ensure safe play for pups of all sizes. One of the few places along our route that has a dog park which is a win in my book. As for the park itself, it’s not very big but it gets the job done. Would be nice if there was a water access point nearby along with some sort of shade like a tree of some sort. Another thing is the lack of responsibility by pet owners. Because I appreciate the fact that Love’s even has one I take the time to clean it up the best I can. I usually get two poop bags full. This last time was just one bag. They also replaced the rusted out poop bag bin. 🙌

Despite its shortcomings, we stop every time we come through which is several times a year. And while there are things that could be done to improve it, I’m largely happy that it’s functional and easily accessible from the expressway. Oh and we also get snacks/food from Love’s so there’s that.
