Wright-Bembry Park is a charming neighborhood park located just off Yale near 23rd Street in Houston, Texas. It offers a welcoming, family-oriented environment with playgrounds, tennis courts (also lined for pickleball), a sand volleyball court, and ample open grassy areas—perfect for play and relaxation. The park’s shaded picnic tables and scattered benches provide plenty of seating, making it a great spot for gatherings, birthday parties, or casual visits. Parking is convenient, with a lot across the street and additional street parking available nearby.
While this park is dog-friendly and often visited by local pet owners who enjoy walking their dogs on the grounds, there is no dedicated fenced dog area or off-leash space. Dog owners should be attentive to leash requirements and pick up after their pets, as reviews mention some issues with waste left behind. Despite lacking dog-specific amenities, Wright-Bembry Park stands out for its clean and well-kept community space, friendly atmosphere, and wide range of activities for both kids and adults, making it a pleasant choice for a dog walk or a family outing in Houston.
One of our favorites with great swings and slides for little and big kids. Easy parking unless there is a big event going on… nice neighborhood park.

Just ok. No shade so the playground equip was all hot. Some ppl were hosting a 2 yr old bday party so all the picnic tables were occupied. There is no running water and no bathrooms. The area that I guess is supposed to be grass is overgrown in weeds, but the tennis court is in good condition. Single basketball hoop faces east, so it’s good for playing in the evenings.

It has a nice picnic area and playgrounds plus tennis and basketball courts but no bathrooms, why?! How does this make sense? Also some dog owners do not pick up after their dogs- disgraceful, especially as there are kids playing there.

Nicely kept up with good shaded tables. The playground equipment is sparse but at least it’s fairly new. The tennis court has a good surface and net but no windscreens. Overall I would recommend this park, but there are better ones in the area.
