🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Located in the heart of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Common Grounds Dog Park offers a generously sized and fully fenced area for dogs to play, socialize, and exercise off-leash. Popular with local pet owners, this dog park is well-known for its easy accessibility, including a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot. Dog owners can enjoy the park’s open layout, pet-friendly walking grounds, and designated sections, where dogs can run and fetch safely.
The park features gravel terrain, which, while practical, means your furry companion might get a bit dusty—especially after rain when the area can become muddy. Visitors appreciate the provision of picnic tables, seating, and a convenient portable restroom, making the park a comfortable spot for both owners and pets. Common Grounds Dog Park stands out for its large, multi-sectioned grounds and being open year-round with amenities that cater to both children and adults alike. It’s a great pet-friendly destination in Scottsbluff for anyone looking for a place to let their dog run free.
It was like a giant sandbox. I’m guessing it got flooded not too long ago. Otherwise, it’s a nice place.
Well kept, 3 separate large areas for your dog(s) to play, run and fetch! Nice little area for people to walk and exercise as well.
As far as dog parks go it’s kinda a sad place… dog poop every where, pretty much fenced in mud and gravel.
I happened to drive through this area while in a visit to Scottsbluff last week. I hadn’t been back to the area in 30 years so if this park was there back then, I didn’t remember it. Even as cold as it was and such an overcast day, someone had their pet at the park as I drive through. Which was a great reason to stop to see if the outside portable restroom was working. Yeah .. It was. So many places back in Missouri close all facilities up over the winter that it’s a great reliever when places like this park don’t. 👍
Large enough space and most people clean up after their pets. The entire pet grounds are gravel and I enjoy grass better.
