Capital Springs Dog Park is one of the most beloved off-leash dog parks in Madison, Wisconsin. Located at 3398 Lake Farm Rd, this expansive and fully fenced park offers ample space for dogs to run, play, and make new friends, with a welcoming community of both pups and their owners. The park features both prairie and wooded areas, giving dogs room to explore a mix of grassy fields and shady trails. Scenic views, pet-friendly trails, and proximity to the water make it a local favorite for dog-friendly hiking and nature lovers alike.
Unique amenities include a separate area for small or geriatric dogs and direct access to the water, where your dog can take a dip to cool off. There are seating areas for owners, bag stations for waste disposal, and plenty of parking available. While some areas may lack shade, the beautiful landscapes with tall grass and lake views more than compensate, making this park an ideal destination year-round for Madison’s dog owners. Always check the algae status before letting your dog swim, and be aware of the uneven ground in grassy areas.

Nice sized park. Not much shade. Nice prairie plants. We come here occasionally for some variety. The people and dogs have been friendly. Some dog parks have a weird vibe. This one is chill.

This is a fantastic dog park except for the holes some people allowed there dog to dig in the middle of a wide open field… unfortunately, I sprained my ankle in a hole dug by a dog. So, keep your eyes open on the ground, not on your dogs or you could be seriously injured.

I have a small dog so it’s great that he has a place to play that isn’t so overwhelming. The landscaping is always well kept with some areas kept taller for them to roam. There are 2 gates connecting the small dog portion to the rest of the exercise park and sometimes people bring large dogs in. That part I don’t like but I remind them of the rules.
