Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Located in Lincoln, Nebraska, Roper East Dog Run offers a large, grassy area for dogs to play, making it a favorite among local pet owners. The park features separate sections for small and large dogs, both with secure fencing and paved walkways—ideal for rainy days or keeping your feet clean after Nebraska showers. With easy accessibility, including wheelchair-friendly paths and parking, it’s welcoming for everyone looking to enjoy a pet-friendly outing.
For amenities, visitors will find picnic tables, public restrooms, and shaded shelters in each dog area. The park is regularly maintained, with freshly mowed grass and solid fencing, but note that water fountains may sometimes be unavailable. This dog park is known for its clean, open play spaces and relaxing seating, perfect for both you and your canine companion, whether you’re looking for a quick run or an extended playdate.
Was the first time I used it took my female out to have a fun day with her puppies place was nice and clean. Grass was mowed and the fence was secure all the way around.
Beautiful park, very large side for the big dogs, and nice big area for the small ones. Each side has a paved walkway which was nice after it rained.
This dog park is decent but could be better. The size of the park is great but there’s not much inside to entertain dogs. The walking path is a great feature to keep dogs and owners moving. With more trees and long native grass this place would be so much better. Let the long native grass grow wild and this park would be multitudes better. Dog parks don’t need to be sterile and manicured.
The fairway is well-maintained. It’s a fun course with good variety, especially once you get past the first 6 holes or so. Bring a disc grabber. The creek may eat your discs otherwise. Also, be prepared to lose one in the tall grass if you shank a crucial drive.
Took my SIL’s dogs here while she was recovering from surgery. While it’s a large area, there is only one shaded shelter in each of the large and small dog areas with one picnic table. The water is not turned one for the drinking fountain AND the gates have no latches to prevent the dogs from getting out of the park. I’m not sure if the City of Lincoln cannot afford latches and water or if they just don’t care. I was born in Nebraska and I’m embarrassed by the negligence especially when I hear from residents there are other parks in the community that are being taken care of.
