It’s a beautiful trail covered with trees mostly, making it pleasant even when the sun is bright. There aren’t too many people using it all the time, so it doesn’t feel crowded. The entrances to the trail are non descript and might take some effort to find.

Very nice to walk , run. or jog all the way asphalt. You can also bike. Be careful about winter time and/ or during/after very rainy days, because there are few creeks ( one of them actually is almost the size of a little river). Passing across those creeks would be impossible, or at least very challenging during flooding times.
And, you may see lots of animals!

My 1st time here. Great trail @ Sugarland Trail in Herndon, Va. I would say most of it it’s Paved. Lots of muddy areas. Specifically around where you need to cross the creek. Which I did 8x times. Therefore. Wear so nice hiking shoes. I only wore sneakers and they allow you to slip. Not safe. Saw some nice wildlife (rabbits, coyote, lots of cool birds )n few people with dogs. Excellent place to relax n enjoy nature. I will definitely return. Have fun n be safe.
