My husband and I drove up here just for the Christmas fort experience and it was wonderful. Lots of things to look at. You could spend several hours here. It’s free many buildings to experience, two story buildings but easy and only a few stairs very easy, clean bathrooms and the kids playground nice and shady.

Awesome little slice of history stored like a time capsule (with AC) the little village really help bring into perspective what life was all about during that time; nothing in excess, no striving to keep false appearances while you watch your neighbor struggle. The fort itself is sooooo small, the square footage being less than a luxury house today. Very nice displays of little trinkets and treasures from that timeperiod.

A place to walk while stepping back to earlier times. The houses from earlier periods of Florida were interesting stops. For many items we knew or remembered similar items and their uses. It would be good for younger folks to have more interpretative descriptions available, perhaps on audio or app based programs.
Restrooms, picnic areas, tennis and basketball courts are available.

I visited on 12/13/24 around 1:30pm. I really enjoyed this park! There weren’t many people here, which was fine by me because it was nice and quiet. I love going to historical places because I love learning. I really enjoyed each exhibit and being able to imagine what life was like back then. There are a good number of parking spaces, baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, picnic tables, and a lot of green area. They also had clean bathrooms. I’m looking forward to the post office exhibit opening in the future. It is right next to the road, so it can be a little noisy from car traffic. I’d love to come back and look at more books on the bookshelf, I enjoy old books.
