This spot has winding trails with nice shade. I liked the overlook with benches near the top. Not too difficult, good for a morning walk. The air smelled fresh after the rain. Feels local and underappreciated.

We stumbled upon Sycamore Highlands Park while looking for a quiet spot to unwind, and it turned out to be a little gem. I went with my wife and our two kids, and we all genuinely enjoyed our time there. The park is clean, well-maintained, and has a calm, peaceful vibe that’s hard to come by these days.
What really stood out for me was the sunset — absolutely stunning. There’s this spot on the trail that gives you a wide view of the hills and the city below, and as the sun goes down, the sky lights up with these rich, warm colors. It was one of those moments where you just stop and soak it all in.
Our kids had a great time too — they ran around, played on the grass, and didn’t want to leave. It’s not a huge park, but that’s part of the charm. It feels safe and tucked away, like a neighborhood secret. Definitely coming back, especially for those sunset views.
