If you’re exploring Watkins Glen, New York with your furry friend, Glen Dairy Bar is a sweet pitstop to enjoy a cold treat. Known for its generous servings, affordable prices, and huge menu of homemade and hard ice creams, it’s a local favorite for dog owners looking for a relaxing break. The outdoor patio area means you and your pup can rest and enjoy the scenery after a day on the nearby pet-friendly trails or lakefront parks.
While Glen Dairy Bar isn’t a traditional dog park, its outdoor seating provides a casual place for your dog to hang out while you indulge in a cone. With access to walking areas nearby and easy parking, it’s a perfect add-on to a day out at Seneca Lake or Watkins Glen State Park. Just keep in mind that dogs should remain leashed and there’s no designated fenced dog section on-site.
I couldn’t believe the cone I got for just NULL — it was huge! I had the Pineapple Vanilla flavor, and it was absolutely delicious. They have so many options to choose from, too. If you’re out on the water and craving something cold and sweet, definitely stop by this spot!
We rewarded ourselves after a 4 miles hike at Watkins Glen State Park with the very smooth soft serve ice-cream.
Friendly staff and they have many items on menu.
There is an outdoor area with tables next to the ice-cream shop.
Ice cream stop in town. Prices quite good for a two scoop servong. Good selection of flavors, some homemade some from a creamery in Maine. Outdoor indoor sitting. Sounds like a 5 star but i downgraded to a 3 because the bathroom is a poorly kept porta potty. Place like this with as big as it is should have an indoor bathroom. I am sure the guy who works it uses an indoor bathroom. If he uses the porta potty, cleanup aint his thing. If you just want ice cream comr but forget about the bathroom!!

Glen Dairy Bar in Watkins Glen is a popular spot for ice cream lovers, and it’s easy to see why. The prices are very reasonable compared to many other ice cream shops, and the portions are incredibly generous—you’ll definitely get more than your money’s worth. I tried their ice cream and found the taste to be a bit hit or miss, more on the average side rather than outstanding. Still, with the variety of flavors and the sheer size of the servings, it’s worth a stop if you’re in the area and craving a cold treat on a summer day.

Absolutely the best!!
We visited Watkins Glen while racing and wanted ice cream. Found the Glen Dairy Bar… And wow! Soft-serve and hard, homemade and wide range of flavors. Beware: small/single-scoop (see photo)…is huge.
Went back…just as good the second time. Highly recommended.

This was a neat ice cream stop on our way out of Watkins Glens. They had a lot of good options including homemade, which is always the best.
They’re service was mostly friendly – some more smiles would have been nice. But they had the service system down very well. Service was fast.
The ice cream, of course, was delicious. I had the camp coffee flavor, and it was not bad. Definite coffee flavor, but not smacking-me-in-the-face coffee flavor.
They had a nice patio area to sit at. Being a busy summer day, it would be expected that some of the chairs or tables would be a little sticky – which they were.
There were a lot of speakers that were playing loud music, which was the only non-enjoyable part of the visit.
Otherwise, a great place to go for a quick icy treat!
