Another great Freeport Conservation Trust maintained trail. Limited moderate slope, mostly flat, many roots.

Nice, easy and relatively short trail through the woods that ends with beautiful view of the water (and a bench to sit on while you enjoy the view!). Agree with the previous reviewer that the trailhead is a little hard to find, but since the trail is part of the Freeport Trail Challenge there is well marked parking on Lambert Rd (enough for probably 3 or 4 cars) and once you walk a minute past the parking you will see the signs for the trail on the right. Don’t skip the 3 little turn off loops on the trail, especially the marsh view one – saw beautiful herons and egrets across the way in the salt marsh each day we went! Also, a lot of interesting mushrooms along the trail – including purple ones!

Always a lovely hike!

Nice trail but difficult to find the trailhead. Directions say to continue onto the unpaved dirt section of the road, but that’s paved now. The trailhead is just past a huge sign that clearly states no trespassing and for private residents only. Proceed/continue at your own risk…and then the trailhead is just beyond that sign. Confusing! But once found, it’s a beautiful trail with nice views of the ocean. Easy to follow marked trails as well.
