We camped here last weekend and loved it. We stayed in the primitive area, which isn’t all that primitive, for better or worse. There’s a water spigot close by and a restroom within a short walk. The sites are right on the lake, too, so you hear and see the water, which is lovely. We hiked the bluestem and lonesome dove trails. They were a bit muddy in parts but still doable. The trail markings are a B-minus, so make sure you have your map and pay attention. We’ve already reserved a site for next spring, so a big thumbs up from the camping ladies.

Beautiful campsites, water access requires a bit of hiking/driving. Water and shores are kept pretty clean. Bathrooms are managed fairly well, trails are fun and scenic. Would definitely come back.

We had a great time hiking the Coyote Run trail. It’s about half gravel so being that it rained the day before it wasn’t too bad. We saw a rabbit, turtle, water moccasins, and a deer along the way. Lots of beautiful wild flowers and some cactus. This time of year the tree canopy was pretty thick so the shade was good. On a side note, we used the restrooms by the boat ramp and they were well stocked and clean.
