Perfect start for a walk. Beautiful day, beautiful site! We parked our car here and walked on the maintained path. Easiest path for walking if you are looking for a place to start an exercise regiment.

Millers Footbridge or Dam 5 along the C&O canal is a great place to explore, relax or exercise around nature. We road our bikes about 6mi to Fort Frederick from this location.

The trail isn’t always manicured and does have debris, rocks, mud but otherwise is very enjoyable by foot or bike. It is mostly covered by forest giving shade and you can find swim outs, fishing, and even preserved or ruin historic elements along the way. Near the dam parking lot there is a porta potty on-site tucked behind some bushes just past the old house.

So if you’re looking for something to do outdoors or just want to escape the daily grind come check out this naturalistic getaway.

This is a beautiful place. Very peaceful. Will definitely go here again. We had to cut our walk short because the clouds where getting dark, short after we left it started to rain. So we will definitely come back. They even have a porta potty. Here are some pictures. 📷
