Located in Remsen, New York, the Adirondack Foothills Visitor Center offers a spacious rest and parking area and serves as a gateway to pet-friendly hiking and green spaces in the Adirondack region. While not a traditional dog park, the area is popular among locals for walking dogs, stretching their legs after a drive, or enjoying a peaceful break surrounded by the natural beauty of upstate New York. The grounds are well-maintained and present ample open space for leashed walks with your furry companions.
Families will also appreciate the adjacent fenced playground, sports courts, and picnic pavilion, making it a convenient stop for those with both kids and pets. Nature lovers can explore the connected Pitch Pine Bog Conservation Area Trail—a 3-mile pet-friendly path offering scenic views, lush greenery, and various local wildlife. Please note, restroom facilities may be limited (porta-potty available only in summer), and dog-friendly amenities like water stations or enclosed off-leash zones are not provided.

NO BATHROOMS. Only in summer is there a Port a potty. Great place to walk a dog or just relax in your vehicle. The only thing in the trailer are tourist brochures. If you’re looking for a hot meal there are restaurants and less expensive diners within 7 to 10 minutes from here.
