Trailhead to points north along upper Mohawk River valley, NYS trails finest. Side trip to many old GAFB trails. Park here if driving in from outside the area. Safe, but always be cautious. Baseball and concerts through the summer, which is only when the bathrooms are available. Come around dawn and dusk to see deer, and venture on down by the river under the Chestnut Street bridge.

The walkway around the park could use some updating. It’s very uneven and muddy at some areas. Sometimes cars are parked on the walkway though they aren’t allowed some people feel they are above the law. Also the playground area could use some lighting. During late night games kids are playing in the dark on the play grounds.
