My absolute favorite beach! I have been to beaches all over the United States and worldwide, and this is the best beach I’ve ever been to! The waves are beautiful, the sand is gorgeous, it hasn’t been too crowded, and there’s even a lifeguard for at least one section! There is also a washing station with warm water!
Nice beach. White sand. Nice restrooms and outside showers.
As a resident of St. Augustine for the past three years, I finally visited this beach on a Tuesday afternoon. It was crowded, and there was a section flagged off for no swimming.
The sand on this beach is especially soft and squishy, which I like, and you can drive on it. Just be careful, as the police are often patrolling.
However, there aren’t many shells to be found.
Ah, the sea. So mysterious, so beautiful, so…wet. Being from a landlocked state, the ocean is an endless source of fascination. Vilano Beach, the road sign said North Beach, was lovely. We crossed over from public parking on A1A on The Locks overpass. The sand is very colorful because of billions of shell fragments, but we found a few small intact shells. Only a handful of other people on the beach made it very peaceful as the waves rolled in with the incoming tide. A group of seabirds gathered together, about 5 different species, stood watch over the waves. Awesome, a welcome respite from the noise of St. Augustine.
Highly recommend! Not too crowded, clean beach with powdery soft sand. Lots of surfers! I’d love to come back next time and surf, maybe bring my dog! The beach seemed great for all ages – kids and adults alike! Very calm, chill vibes. Loved it!
