Grandon Farm Trail offers a peaceful, scenic spot for dog owners looking to enjoy pet-friendly trails in Hampden Township, PA. Nestled adjacent to Creekview Park and with easy access from the Grandon Farm and Brookdale communities, this short loop trail is perfect for dog-friendly hiking and nature walks. The trail is under a mile and winds through shady woods, featuring hills and picturesque streamside views along Sears Run, making it a great morning or afternoon outing for you and your dog.
While not a traditional fenced dog park, Grandon Farm Trail is a lovely, suburban environment where leashed dogs can experience the sights and sounds of local wildlife, including deer, hawks, and turtles. There are benches along the way, picnic tables near the pond, playgrounds for children, and fishing spots, making this a multi-use area well-loved by families and dog walkers. Parking is conveniently available at Creekview Park South, and restrooms are available seasonally. If you’re searching for a dog-friendly park in Mechanicsburg or a relaxing place to walk your dog in Hampden Township, Grandon Farm Trail is a top pick!
Great trail to clock up a few miles without even trying to. A nice, peaceful area of Mechanicsburg and Hampden Township, indeed!
This is a nice suburban trail next to Creekview Park. Good for walking but a little short for biking. Go here if you want to see some wildlife and enjoy the ambience of the nearby stream.
A nice suburban walk, more suited for walking than biking since it’s not long enough to fully enjoy a bike ride. It’s a great spot to walk with dogs or kids, and I felt completely safe here. Just be aware that there’s no lighting at night.
This was a wonderful little walk. The winding trail has some hills and you get to walk alongside the river as well. It’s beautiful and short for a good morning walk.
This trail is less than 3/4 mile, though I think there’s a plan to extend it. It’s attached to the Brookdale/Grandon Farm community. A good place to park for the outsiders would be the Creekview Park South parking lot. From there just walk the trail along the first base side of the baseball diamond, and the trail will lead to Grandon Way and the trailhead is across the street to the left.
A more direct access would be at the cul de sac on Augusta Dr., but then you’d be cutting into the trail midway.
Aside from being a bit short, it’s a beautiful trail – shaded, hilly, and windy – making the hike interesting. It’s a bit too narrow to bike safely among other hikers in my opinion, if not too hilly as well. The Sears Run is accessible in a few places where you can wade in water. There’s also a bridge that crosses the water with a side trail leading to the adjacent community on Trayer Ln.
