Sierra 2 Green is a local gem for dog owners located in the heart of Sacramento, California. Conveniently situated at 2791 24th St, this open, grassy space offers an inviting spot for pet lovers to gather and let their dogs enjoy some outdoor time. While not a specifically dedicated off-leash dog park, Sierra 2 Green is known for its welcoming, pet-friendly community atmosphere and is regularly visited by dog walkers and owners from the neighborhood.
This charming green space provides plenty of open areas for pups to stretch their legs, play fetch, or socialize with other canine friends. Its central location makes it a popular stop for those seeking easily accessible outdoor relaxation for their pets. Although amenities like separate small and large dog areas or agility equipment are not specifically listed, the park’s simplicity and community charm make it an attractive destination for routine walks and outdoor gatherings.
Sad that the city interfered and this area is no longer a dog park. Where did all the great dog parents go? When it was a dog park. It wasn’t separated like other dog parks but the people who went were mostly if not all responsible dog owners and if their dog got rowdy they usually left. I would take our 4 Pomeranians and they loved to mosey around even with the larger dogs they all seemed to play harmoniously. For my 4 poms this was a great larger area they could smell and run, not so great for larger dogs. Now if we go, the park rangers are quick to come out especially if your dog is off leash. The park has become so sad! It doesn’t feel like a place to congregate and the parks in this area are not large enough or people arent really responsible for their dogs. And driving to a dog park doesn’t feel like the close neighborhood connection Sierra 2 had.
Nice and Clean with lots of space for the fur babies to play in.
This was the best dog area in the City in part because it was a neighborhood driven dog and neighborhood place and not a City dog park. The City has chosen to fence a very small area for dog use with a strange crate for an entrance. Families can no longer come with their children and dogs and seamless ly enjoy the space because now all the uses are fenced off. So much for government intervention…goverment…always here to help 🙄
Wonderful dog park, the best one I’ve encountered in Sacramento. Been coming here for about 2 years. Great and welcoming community of dogs and dog owners. Dog fountain is great as it doesn’t get clogged/muddy like other parks. There is an opening on one side, so well trained dogs only!
It’s clean, grassy, owners are attentive and pick up after their pets. Big green field to run and play fetch.
Nice wide open flat grassy field but no separate big small dog area. No benches or tables but everyone and their dogs are friendly and active. Adjoining playground and basketball courts. Good shade of trees
