Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Buddy Dog Humane Society is a trusted destination for adopting dogs in Sudbury, Massachusetts. While primarily an adoption center rather than a classic fenced dog park, the location is surrounded by pet-friendly trails popular with local dog walkers. Families rave about the knowledgeable and caring staff who provide a thorough adoption process, ensuring a perfect match between dogs and their new homes. The area is well-maintained and safe, offering amenities like nearby parking and pleasant, largely shaded trails—great for an after-adoption stroll with your new companion.
Though there is no dedicated, fenced off-leash dog park area at this address, the nearby trails are dog-friendly, mostly flat, and shaded by mature trees. These trails are enjoyed by many local dog owners for both on-leash and off-leash walks, especially during quieter times. Parking is available, though it can fill quickly on weekends. The whole area offers a unique blend of humane adoption services, dog-friendly walking paths, and a welcoming atmosphere for Sudbury pet lovers.
My first adoption. I have had many dogs in the past and had them since they were 12 weeks old. When I went to Buddy Dog, I thought I could walk in and take a dog. Well, that wasn’t the case. Buddy Dog took the time to meet with me and my family and check with my current vet to make sure I was a responsible dog owner, I’m sure. They were very thorough in making sure we were the right fit for the dog. We could not be happier. They sent us home with the exact fit for us and our other dog. They are top notch in my book.

Baby Carter is a gentle and sweet little girl who came from Texas and is ready to find a home of her own. She was in foster care in Texas with many other dogs and did well with them. She is shy at first and will require a gentle hand, but once she warms up she becomes very playful and cuddly.
Baby Carter is about 1 year old and currently 10 lbs.
We’ve had 2 great adoptions through them! 1 in 2020 and another one 2024 – both dogs. Great experiences! The shelter knew the specifics of our home and requirements and matched us with 2 great new family members! Highly recommend.
I cannot say how rotten our experience was with the entire place right down to doing most all they wanted so glad I skipped the zoom meeting my current dog wasn’t doing well today after her required shot. They never emailed back to inquire about her. Probably because I told them exactly how I feel. Please people dont bother it’s not worth the time and we did everything they wanted cold annoying people so surprised I hope the founder/ owner sees this post
We adopted our dog from Buddy Dog in 2023 and had a wonderful experience. Staff is amazing and clearly passionate about caring for these animals. They are super transparent and honest about all the dogs personality’s which helps ensure both pet and family are getting a good fit. Love Buddy Dog!
