We just had our 50th class reunion at sternwheeler park, awesome place reasonably priced Go wildcats class of 1975
Nice, quiet trail with lots of beautiful plant life, but was overshadowed with the sheer amount of horse poop that was left throughout the trail. Having to watch my step for potential landmines my entire walk took away from any enjoyment I had. However, the initial area/start of the trail, downtown, was clean and well maintained.
A unique layout for a park. Good walking trails, although steep near downtown. There is a parking area that avoids that if needed. Access to the river for fishing. Amphitheater area looks like it would be great for events.
Very well kept park! It has something for everyone; all ages.
If you want to stroll through manicured walking trails, this park has you covered.
If you like to hike (like me 😊), there are side trails that are more natural and secluded, where you can feel miles into densely wooded forest.
The East Fork Lewis River runs through this park, so you know the water is crystal clear and beautiful; offering a nice size swimming area.
There are also picnic areas, as well as viewpoint benches throughout the park.
At the end of one of the bigger trails is a school, so that means a track and field.
There is a cool mini amphitheater here, so you can enjoy live music even. I believe the live music is on the weekend, but do check their event schedule for more information.
Their restrooms are clean and in excellent condition.
Whomever tends the grounds, does an absolutely wonderful job! Thank you for making my trip here so pleasant! 💝
First park I took the pups since being out here for a little over a week now. Very peaceful, I enjoy going early in the morning to beat the foot traffic of others and their dogs, since my pups can get crazy excited over the sight of potential fur friends (don’t worry, they have many pup friends) An all around great calm place with some beautiful views of the Lewis River. Five stars everyday!
